Dishwasher Repairs

Freestanding, built-in and slimline dishwashers. Whether it’s leaving water in the bottom, leaving dishes dirty or leaking onto the floor, we’ll track down the cause.

About this service

How we approach dishwasher repairs

Every dishwasher cycle follows the same pattern: fill, heat, wash, drain and dry. The inlet valve and float switch control the water coming in, the element heats it, the circulation pump drives it through the spray arms, and the drain pump empties the tub.

Poor cleaning is often a blockage rather than a broken part — clogged filters or spray-arm holes reduce the pressure that does the cleaning. When parts do fail, it’s typically the drain pump, inlet valve, heating element or door latch.

We check the simple things first, then test the pumps, valve and heater, and finish by running a cycle and checking for leaks.

What we work on

  • Freestanding dishwashers
  • Built-in / integrated
  • Slimline 45 cm models

Common problems

Dishwasher faults we see most often

The symptom points us in the right direction — testing confirms the cause.

  • 01

    Water left in the bottom

A blocked filter, a kinked drain hose, a blocked sink connection or a failed drain pump.

  • 02

    Dishes not clean

Blocked spray-arm holes, a dirty filter, a weak circulation pump or water that isn’t heating.

  • 03

    Leaking

A worn door seal, loose hose, or excessive foam from using the wrong detergent.

  • 04

    Not filling

A closed tap, kinked inlet hose, failed inlet valve or a stuck float switch.

  • 05

    Not drying properly

An empty rinse-aid dispenser, a failed heating element or a sensor fault.

  • 06

    Won’t start or flashing lights

Door latch, control board or heater faults — note the error code for us.

Before you book

Remove and rinse the filter at the bottom of the tub and check the spray arms turn freely. A clogged filter is one of the most common reasons for poor cleaning and slow draining.

  3. Test heating and controls

Element, sensors, door latch and control board are tested.

  4. Explain and quote

You approve the repair and price first.

  5. Cycle and leak check

FAQ

Dishwasher repairs: your questions answered

Still unsure? Send us the details or a WhatsApp with a photo of the problem.

No. Hand dishwashing liquid foams heavily in a dishwasher and can overflow and leak onto the floor. Use dishwasher detergent only.

Many dishwashers keep a small amount of water in the sump area by design. Water covering the floor of the tub after a cycle is not normal and usually means a drainage problem.

Check your manual for the recommended interval. Rinsing it regularly — more often with heavy use — prevents most cleaning and drainage complaints.

Yes. Built-in models may need to be slid out of the cabinet to reach some parts; we’ll do this carefully.
